Will Argentina be in World Cup 2010?
Though Argentina has been defeated with Brazil, they are still at 4th place in the point chart. For that, they can thank Colombia for defeating Ecuador by 2-0. If Ecuador would win they would get 23 points. Argentina would have to down to number 5th place.

There is still a change to loose the 4th position for Diego Maradona team. 9th September at 23:00 (GMT), they have a match with Paraguay in Paraguay. If Paraguay wins they will be qualified for World Cup and Argentina will be put into uncertainty. Because, on the same day Colombia has a match with Uruguay and Ecuador has with Bolivia and if they win they will be up to 4th and 5th place respectively; defeated Argentina will be down to 6th place.
Four countries will go to World Cup directly. To get a ticket for World Cup, 5th team will have to play and win with 4th team of the CONCACAF region. In the next match on 9th September, the defeats of Argentina and the winning of Colombia-Ecuador means kick out from the 5th place. Then, the target in last two matches for Argentina will be 5th place instead of 4th.
The biggest threat for Argentina in their last three matches is they have only one easy rival Peru. Paraguay has almost qualified for World Cup and the other rival Uruguay is threatening them. It is not the last; they have to face those fierce rivals to their own playground. Only the match against Peru will be in Argentina.
